Employment and labour relations
- Lucy set up a legal department from the ground up, identifying the legal risks and opportunities facing the organization and introducing robust mitigations through policies, controls, training and digitalization of various legal processes.
- She has drafted, implemented, and enforced a wide range of legal policies such as litigation management, data protection, ethics and compliance, contract management, policy management, legal compliance management, and external counsel management.
- Lucy has provided legal guidance across business units on ethical and social safeguards and compliance management. Her work has included supporting the establishment and management of whistleblowing mechanisms, providing legal advisory for internal investigations and guiding resultant disciplinary processes.
- She has further supported business operations in entering, exiting, and re-entering various African markets by leading government engagements, conducting KYC on local partners, ensuring compliance with local legislation and international standards, and negotiating and drafting agreements, all within the framework of legal risk identification and mitigation.
- Lucy has also served as a member of the Joint Negotiation Committee in multiple successful collective bargaining negotiations across various industries.
