Biography

Diana is an associate at the firm. She joined the firm in 2018 as an Intern. She has been involved in an array of legal matters including Dispute Resolution, Employment and Labour Relation matters, Constitutional and Human Rights related disputes, Insurance disputes, Insolvency proceedings, Conveyancing among others.

Diana has assisted in advising clients across an array of sectors such as dispute resolution, employment and labour relations, WIBA claims. She has successfully prosecuted and defended many cases in the Magistrates’ Court, High Court, Employment & Labour Relations Court, Court of Appeal and in various Tribunals.  She also represents the Firm at Safaricom Plc as an external counsel handling Property Management.

Work Highlights 

  • Successfully prosecuted a debt recovery claim on behalf of Henkel Kenya Ltd, a Kenyan subsidiary of the German based multi-national corporation, Henkel Group which deals in the manufacture of fast-moving consumer goods. The debt was for over 19M.
  • Successfully defended Unilever Kenya Limited in a Work Injury Benefit Claim filed in the Employment and Labour Relations Court where the Claimant sought for adoption of assessment by DOSH. The Claim was termination on the ground that it was brought prematurely before the Employment and Labour Relations Court.
  • Part of the team that represented a leading commercial bank in Kenya in Insolvency proceedings against Mumias Sugar Company filed at the High court where the claim by the Creditors is for over Kshs.133 billion. 
  • Part of the team that represents Henkel Kenya Limited in prosecuting a suit for recovery of a substantial debt as a result of breach of distributorship agreement.
  • Currently representing Unilever Kenya Ltd, a leading manufacturing Company in prosecuting a debt  whose  claim is for over 21m.
  • Part of the team that successfully conducted Regulatory Impact Assessment for Miraa Regulations 2020 on behalf of Agriculture Food Authority (AFA)
  • Part of the team that has successfully conducted legal compliance and governance audits for leading corporates, Parastatals and other government entities including SASRA, KASNEB, Standard Group Plc, EPRA, Kentrade, KDIC, Boc gases among others.
  • Acted for Agriculture and Food Authority in undertaking transfer and registration of properties from the defunct Directorates  to Agriculture and Food Authority.
  • Acted for the Parliamentary Service Commission in protecting its interests in a  mortgage transaction amounting to over Kshs. 30M .
  • Part of the team that represents a leading referral Hospital in prosecuting a debt recovery claim of over 72m resulting from breach of contractual obligations by the Insurer.
